1 year ago today, I flew home to florida after spending over 3 weeks in california recovering from back-to-back brain surgeries. for the first time in a long time, I felt hopeful about my future ❤️‍🩹

2 years before that, I had a series of mini strokes the day before thanksgiving while we were in miami visiting connor’s family. the time between those strokes and my surgeries was filled with so much uncertainty — doctors puzzled by my case, recommending we “wait and see” until something happened (aka a major, potentially debilitating stroke) because I was technically asymptomatic.

this thanksgiving, I’m unbelievably grateful for something so simple: sitting at a table with my family and just being here. it’s something so many of us take for granted, and I’ll never see it that way again.

& as always, I’m so thankful for the 20,000 of YOU who have followed along on my journey. it means more to me than you will ever know! 🤎🤎🤎🤎

CELEBRATING 1 YEAR SINCE MY BRAIN SURGERIES 🧠

three years ago, the day before thanksgiving, I had two mini strokes that completely changed my life. after months of tests, confusion, and fear, I was diagnosed with a rare disease called moyamoya — meaning the main arteries to my brain were closing.

in november 2024, I flew to Stanford for two brain bypass surgeries to restore blood flow and prevent future strokes. recovery was intense — I lost my ability to speak for 48 hours, had to relearn simple things, and faced some of the scariest moments of my life.

and somehow… here I am, november 2025 — healthy, thriving, cleared for the next 3 years, and living a life I once wasn’t sure I’d get to live.

if you’re going through something scary, unexpected, or completely life-altering… please hold on. so much can change in a year 🤍🌈

today marks one year post-op from double brain surgery. 🤍
