Recently, I shared that I have planned all of my content, now through December and a lot you had some questions about how I did it! Historically, Q4 (October, November, and December) have been my busiest months. With this, I know I need to plan ahead and get as much of a head start on my content as I can. I want to share as many tips for content planning as I can! Here’s how to plan ahead for October, November, and December! Let’s jump in!
Gather all of your assets from previous seasons
I know it may feel counterintuitive, but you CAN reuse content from past years! Gather up your favorite photos from previous seasons and pepper them in within your current content. When I do this, I try to use a different photo from the same shoot that I like or put a different spin on the photo with the caption.
Find a planning tool that works well for you
Planoly has become a favorite of mine lately! I like to use Planoly to visualize my content, add in captions, hashtags, and ideas in advance. Doing so helps me to stay organized and keep my feed looking on-point!
Create a caption bank
Same thing as gathering assets from previous seasons – consider creating a caption bank with some of your favorite captions from last fall or holiday season. You took the time to write these captions – so yes, FEEL FREE to REUSE your own words! When I do this, I try to update the caption copy a bit and sprinkle in new info if it is a value-add post.
Block space for incoming campaigns and ideas you have
I plan my content knowing that campaigns will pop up here and there and I will find inspiration to create new, exciting content for the season. I plug in what I can in advance, but leave space for new content and branded campaigns as well! Planning ahead makes it easier to plop in those posts and really focus on making that content incredible! Looking for fun ideas for fall content?
