Are you an aspiring content creator or blogger looking to provide quality content to a brand? Or maybe you’re an established influencer, looking to cultivate long-term relationships with brands? Either way, it is important to focus on provide high quality content to each brand that you partner with! Below are my tips for providing consistent, quality content to all of your partners:
Write Down Any Due Dates
The first thing I do with every branded campaign I score is write down EVERY SINGLE DUE DATE! This helps me determine things like:
- When I need to purchase products & props for photoshoots
- When content concepts are due (if required)
- When to shop or rent any outfits to fit the theme (take $35 off your first month of FashionPass with code: EMILY9K)
- When to plan to shoot photos & reserve a time slot with my photographer
- When content drafts are due
- When to schedule the post
- When to share analytics following the campaign
Turn in Your Content Early Whenever Possible
Turning in your content early can help you stand out as an influencer that brands would like to partner with on a regular basis. Punctuality shows that you are a reliable, professional partner.
READ YOUR CONTRACT!
Familiarizing yourself with the brand contract is incredibly important, for every single campaign. There are always topics in the contract you’ll want to review before AGREEING to any campaign – see my tips here!
Once you’ve agreed to the campaign, your contract will be your best friend! Reading your contract carefully allows you to familiarize yourself with the brand’s goals for the campaign and any requirements of your content. Many contracts will contain a creative brief or a list of content requirements. You will want to refer to this before SHOOTING your content! Brands often ask for a re-shoot if the content does not match what was outlined in the contract. Familiarizing yourself with every detail of the contract almost guarantees you don’t have to create content twice.
You’ll also want to reference the contract when writing your caption or blog post. This allows you to make note of any required campaign hashtags, brand tags, or talking points.
Ask the Brand for a Content Sample or Provide One Yourself
If the brand does not provide content samples, ASK FOR THEM! This helps you to align on content inspiration to drive your planning when shooting and writing caption copy. If the brand does not provide these samples or a moodboard, I’ll often head over to Pinterest to create one myself! I’ll even sometimes pull examples of some of my own past posts to give an idea of the type of content I can create for the brand. Providing samples or asking for them helps you to align on the goals or inspiration for the collaboration!
Provide Analytics
Following your post, you’ll want to circle back with your brand contact to provide analytics. Sharing your post’s performance allows the brand to see the results of the campaign! If the post performed well, they’ll almost definitely want to partner up again. You can even use these stats as leverage to pitch another campaign in the future!
Now you have all the resources you need to provide quality content to the brands you are partnering with! So, go ahead, pitch that dream partnership! Circle back with that brand you worked with months ago! You have all the tools you need.
