Time for a staycation at the Sarasota Modern, one of my absolute favorite destinations in Sarasota. I’ve visited this Sarasota hotel three times now because I love it so much. It’s located in the heart of the arts district—so you’re steps away from some of the most exciting restaurants including their own @winkwinklounge, shops, and galleries in Sarasota.
Local attractions
If you’re looking for a hotel where you can relax and enjoy the local attractions, this is the perfect spot for you. The location is prime — just a short drive from Ringling Museum, Marie Selby Gardens, a short walk to The Bay Park and all of Downtown Sarasota’s shops.
Near Tampa Bay
For my St. Pete locals, Sarasota is just a quick trip – only took us about an hour to get down there. We arrived at the Sarasota hotel early to attend a Sunday Funday pool party poolside with live music, food, drinks, raffle prizes—and did I mention tequila tastings from @los_sundays? SO. MUCH. FUN!

Food and Drink
I’d be remiss if we didn’t talk about the delicious food here! Some of our favorite menu items from Wink Wink Lounge were the Marg my Words margarita with Los Sundays Tequila, Every Day I’m Brusselin’ brussels with goat cheese, bacon, and candied pecans, Toga! Toga! pommes frites, You Sneaky Little Tikki masala bowl, Miso Tired of the Same Caesar, A Very Modern Burger, and the Poke Bowl platter.
Lots to enjoy
Spend a day in luxury at this boutique micro-paradise property in the Rosemary District, located just steps from downtown Sarasota. Lounge on the pool deck and enjoy a heated pool, hot tub, and cold plunge pool while you indulge in poolside food and drink service. The Sarasota Modern is the perfect place for a true daycation is all about!
Luxury amenities at this boutique hotel include an expansive pool deck with private cabanas and chaise lounges so you can relax in style, a 24 hour gym where you can work out in high style, and complimentary beach chairs. They even offer a mobile check in through their mobile app!
Find me poolside
The hotel offers 3 pools – take your pick between the stunning lap pool, the jacuzzi pool, and a cold plunge. We loved cooling off in the lap pool and even laying down in the shallow end.
Did I mention the pool bar? They had an amazing cocktail selection – I enjoyed a yummy margarita with a salt rim while relaxing poolside. We loved relaxing in the comfy lounge chairs while sippin’ a cool drink. The pool was the perfect place cool off when the Florida heat got to us. This was the pool day of my dreams!
Look and feel
Moving on to accommodations, our room was nothing short of amazing! We were absolutely blown away by the room, mid-century modern decor and sweeping gorgeous views.
Luxury accommodations
We loved the sleek-yet-comfortable atmosphere we felt immediately upon entering the room. Last time we stayed in a Deluxe Studio King room. Features included a wine-fridge, double-sinks, a huge walk-shower, and a luxurious balcony with a bathtub.
That’s right, a BATHTUB. Yes, I’m talking a full clawfoot tub smack-dab on the balcony. Seriously, genius. I wanted to move in!
This time, my girls and I opted for a Deluxe Queen room with space for all four of us. It was perfect!
My review
All in all, I absolutely loved staying at the Sarasota Modern and give it a full seal of approval. I’m wishing we could’ve stayed even longer now – one night wasn’t even enough. Already looking forward to my next trip back — until next then!
