The holiday season is the perfect time to share fun, seasonal content! Are you looking for inspiration for your holiday photoshoots? I’ve rounded up 10 easy holiday photoshoot ideas that you can re-create on your own!
Pose with Wrapped Gifts
I’ve been wrapping gifts like crazy these days! Might as well let the gifts have multiple purposes. I dressed up in a festive holiday outfit and stacked the gifts one on top of the other, piling high! For this shot, you may need a helper to make sure the gifts don’t fall down as you pose. Otherwise, so easy to do!
Create a Cozy Spot in Your Car’s Trunk
This holiday photoshoot idea is so easy to recreate with items you probably already have at home. I opened up my car’s trunk, filled it with festive pillows, blankets, and wrapped gifts! To top it off, I grabbed a cup of hot cocoa! Well, it looks like hot cocoa – my mug is actually just full of marshmellows and a candy cane for garnish. No mess!
I was totally inspired by Emma and Maddy from the Content Creatives Podcast to try this idea! Below is the behind-the-scenes of how I pulled it off:
Use Holiday Displays in Your City
St. Petersburg has quite a few festive holiday displays! I chose this giant Christmas tree at North Straub Park for this shot in particular. I love how the blurred ornaments turned out in the background. Search for festive displays in your area and see how you can work them into a holiday photoshoot!
Head to the Beach
No white Christmases around here! I’m dreaming of a beachy one instead. I loved taking this festive, beachy shot. My feed is full of snowy content, so I think this shot was a hit since it is a little different than the usual! If you have a beach nearby, give this holiday photoshoot idea a try!
Cozy Up at Home
Grab a festive blanket and cozy up at home! This shot is oh-so-easy to recreate. Best part? You can snuggle up as soon as you’re done shooting!
Grab a Santa Hat
This year, I purchased a Santa hat at Five Below and it has been my favorite prop ever since! A Santa hat can make just about anything festive. You’ll see I’m wearing it in many of the shots in this blog post!
Underneath the Tree
Have you decorated your tree? Posing underneath the Christmas tree is so easy! I put on some cozy Christmas PJs and grabbed some wrapped gifts to fill the frame. Winston just happened to join me while wearing his Christmas pajamas 🙂
Create Themed Content to Promote Your Gift Guides
This year, I created a TON of gift guides for my 12 Days of Gift Guides series! Since I spent a ton of time working on these guides, I wanted to make sure I had some fun content to help me promote them. The shot with the weights was to promote my Health and Fitness Gifts for Her Guide. I posed with my bar cart for my Unique Holiday Gifts for the Host and Hostess. It was so easy to create this holiday content once I picked a guide to pair with each shot!
Online Shopping for Gifts
I don’t know about you, but I did almost all of my shopping online this year! Posing underneath the tree with my laptop made for the perfect holiday photoshoot idea.
Picking Out Your Christmas Tree
Christmas tree shopping makes for the most fun holiday photoshoot idea! This year, I opted for an artificial tree, but couldn’t help but stop to appreciate some real ones. While I was there, I grabbed a wreath because I couldn’t resist that smell! I took a few photos at Gallagher’s Christmas Trees in St. Pete:
Did you create some fun holiday content this year? I’d love to see it!
